How To Increase Your Chances
The odds of winning a Euromillions jackpot are a paltry 1 in 76,275,360,
but there is one way in which you can increase your chances, and
that’s by playing more tickets! The downside of this approach
is that buying more tickets costs more money, but if you get together
with a group of friends or colleagues, you can form a syndicate
and share the prize money you win as a team. According to official
statistics, approximately two out of every three Euromillions lotteries
are won by syndicates, so the idea definitely works in practice.
And the good news is that forming a syndicate isn’t difficult
– here’s our quick guide to getting started...
1 – Find Some Members
The first step is to find a group of people who share your interest
in Euromillions and who would be enthusiastic about playing on a
regular basis as part of a syndicate. Asking your family members
and the people you know at work is generally the best way to start.
There is no minimum number of members you can have in a syndicate,
and even a syndicate of two will effectively double your chances
of winning a prize, but generally you should aim to have half a
dozen or more members to take full advantage of the concept. However,
you shouldn’t go overboard. Having too many members in a syndicate
might make managing it more difficult than you want it to be, so
don’t be afraid of setting an upper limit on memberships.
2 – Choose A Subscription
Once you have got a few members in place, the next thing you need
to do is decide how much each member will pay into the syndicate
each week. This is a matter you all need to agree on, and you can
vary the amount according to the prize on offer if you want. For
example, a syndicate of ten could contribute €2 each during
any week where the estimated Euromillions jackpot is €100 million
or less, and €4 each during any week where the estimated jackpot
is higher. This would allow you to purchase more tickets when prizes
are more generous. Whatever subscription level you decide on, make
sure you stick to it, or members will have every right to complain.
3 – Have A Strategy
Getting all syndicate members to agree on a strategy for selecting
numbers each week is also a good idea. It could be as simple as
letting each member choose their own numbers, or asking for random
selections when you purchase the tickets. Or you might all want
to try and use a specific set of numbers week after week. Whatever
approach you take, make sure all members are happy with it from
the outset.
Forming a syndicate is by no means any kind of guarantee that you will win a Euromillions jackpot, but the simple fact that syndicates tend to buy more tickets than individual players will increase your chances at least marginally. And having a better chance of winning makes for a more exciting gaming experience!
