Playing the Euromillions lottery isn’t difficult, but there are a handful of tips that we can give you to make the game as enjoyable and straightforward as possible...
– Buy your tickets early. Many people leave buying their Euromillions lottery tickets until the last minute, when they suddenly realise that it’s Friday and there are only a few hours to go before the Euromillions draw takes place. Unfortunately, this leads to lengthy queues in some outlets, and with a strict cut-off time for ticket purchases, it isn’t uncommon for at least a handful of players to miss the deadline. To avoid this possibility (which could potentially mean missing out on a fortune) it is a good idea to buy your tickets early in the week.
– Keep your ticket safe. Euromillions lottery tickets belong to the bearer, so if you were to lose a ticket and someone else found it, they would be entitled to claim any prize that it eventually won. Exactly where you keep your ticket is up to you, as long as it is secure and safe. Just be sure to remember where you put it, because you will need to make a winning claim within 180 days.
– Check your numbers promptly. It may not be possible for you to watch the Euromillions lottery draw live on television, but you should certainly try to make an effort to check your numbers within a day or so of the draw. Leaving a gap of more than a day dramatically increases the chances of you forgetting to check the winning numbers at all, and although you might think it rare for anyone to remain totally oblivious to a major lottery win, it does happen, so check those numbers!
– Claim quickly and keep quiet. If you are lucky enough to become a Euromillions jackpot winner, don’t go screaming about it in the streets. It is best to keep your win quiet until you have had chance to let the reality of the win sink in. Until then, call the lottery claim hotline to register your claim and set the ball rolling. There will be plenty of time to tell other people about your good fortune when the money is in your bank account.
