British Ticket Wins EuroMillions Jackpot

One ticket bought in Britain won the EuroMillions multi-rollover jackpot last Friday 14 May and set a new record for the biggest lottery prize ever to be won by a single ticket holder in the UK. The EuroMillions results that made the new record possible were 01, 17, 31, 43 and 47, with the numbers 02 and 03 being selected as the Lucky Stars. And for those of you who are wondering exactly how much the jackpot was worth, we can tell you that the final figure was €100,037,101, which is £84,451,321 for the UK winner concerned.

The jackpot winner wasn’t the only EuroMillions player to land a life-changing prize. 14 players matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €350,433 (around £242,957) each as a result. 22 players matched five numbers but no Lucky Stars to win €63,285 (around £43,876) each and another 135 players matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win €7,366 (around £5,107) each. For the benefit of EuroMillions players in the UK, the winning Millionaire Raffle number was QPY542596, and made one player £1,000,000 richer than they were beforehand.

Once again, followers of our regular ‘overdue numbers’ feature were helped a couple of steps closer to winning a EuroMillions prize because the main number 47 and the Lucky Star number 02 were ones that we highlighted last week as being ‘overdue’ for selection. Of course, we are always careful to remind new readers that every number in play has exactly the same chance of being draw from a statistical point of view, but playing one or more ‘overdue numbers’ can sometimes be more fun than picking numbers at random, and they do come up every now and again, as the last few draws have demonstrated very nicely.

With that in mind, the most overdue main numbers that you might like to consider for the next EuroMillions draw this Friday are 48, 02, 13, 41 and 20, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 01 and 05. Further facts and figures that you might like to take a look at can be found on our EuroMillions Statistics page.

We offer our congratulations to all of the EuroMillions players who won a prize last week, but especially to the owner of the jackpot-winning ticket. As for everyone else, why not play EuroMillions online today and have a go at winning the €15 million (around £12 million) jackpot that can be won this Friday 21 May? The more tickets you buy, the more chance you will have of winning, so help yourself and good luck!
