EuroMillions Victory for Belgium and Portugal

Belgium and Portugal united, albeit unintentionally, to win the EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday 29 January, bringing France’s recent jackpot-winning run to an end. The main numbers drawn on Tuesday were 09, 16, 26, 36 and 39, and the Lucky Star numbers were 02 and 06. Two tickets (one in Belgium and one in Portugal) matched all of those numbers to share a jackpot worth €15 million (£12.8 million), so congratulations to the owners of those tickets and also to everyone who picked up one of the 1,592,353 consolation prizes that were won.

There were ten consolation prize winners at the second-tier level, and they won €100,025 (£66,534) each by matching all five of the main numbers plus one of the Lucky Stars. Six tickets caught all five of the main numbers but without either Lucky Star number to win a third-tier prize of €55,569 (£36,964) each, whilst 77 tickets matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to secure a prize of €2,165 (£1,440) each. All other winning tickets in the main game landed smaller prizes of up to €168 (£111) each by matching fewer numbers, and in the UK one ticket matched the Millionaire Raffle number RCT102153 to win £1,000,000.

We have now seen the jackpot won in each of the last two EuroMillions games, and lottery fans across Europe are waiting to see if the winning trend can continue this Friday, when the jackpot will once again be worth €15 million. Those of you who want to consider including one or more of the most overdue numbers on your tickets should note that the most overdue main numbers right now are 46, 12, 13, 34 and 33, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 08 and 05.

Because the EuroMillions game on Tuesday was the last one of the month, perhaps now would be a good time to summarise the action so far. The jackpot has been won in four of the nine draws that have taken place in January 2013 (a strike rate of 44.44%), with seven tickets managing to land a top prize payout. Four of those tickets were purchased by players in France, and the other three were entered by players from Belgium, Portugal and the UK. The total number of EuroMillions prizes won across the month as a whole was an incredible 20,182,470.

All of the above has helped to make the first month of 2013 a very good one for EuroMillions players, and we are now keen to see what February brings. Visit this page to buy your tickets online for the next game this Friday 1 February and you just might become the eighth jackpot winner of the year! Good luck!
