As regular readers may recall, EuroMillions lottery players in the UK enjoyed a very special Millionaire Raffle draw on Friday 24 December which created no fewer than 25 brand new millionaires. Only a few weeks have passed since that special Millionaire Raffle draw took place, but there have already been several winners who have opted to go public with the news of their success, and we share a few of their stories here to inspire those of you who will be playing for the €15 million EuroMillions jackpot this Friday 14 January…
The Millionaire Raffle number DHF422620 made James Campbell and his wife Angela £1 million richer on Christmas Eve, but James didn’t check his ticket until Christmas Day. “I checked my EuroMillions numbers first on Teletext but we hadn’t won a prize on the main game so I went on the lottery website to check the Millionaire Raffle number at the bottom of the ticket,” James explained. “I couldn’t believe it when I saw we had matched one of the Raffle numbers – I gave it to Angela to double check and she confirmed we’d won £1 million!” The couple will now be buying a new home and a new car, and James will be buying Angela driving lessons so that she can learn to drive.
Another £1 million prize was won by a syndicate of 15 work colleagues. The syndicate was set up three months prior to the win when the syndicate founder, Ocean King, had a very strong ‘psychic’ feeling that a million pound win was on the horizon. “I don’t usually talk about my psychic gift at work but I was convinced we were going to win a million and felt I had to start the syndicate so I could share the good fortune,” Ocean said. “We began playing the EuroMillions in October and only discovered our Christmas Eve win on New Year’s Eve – seems I was true to my word about a win by the end of 2010!”
Christmas was looking bleak for EuroMillions player Derek Street because he had the flu, so when he discovered that he had won £1 million by playing online it really made the festive season special for himself and his wife Sandra. “I had got the ticket on Christmas Eve, I felt terrible and couldn’t go out on with my sons as we usually do,” he explained. “We had to cancel seeing my sons on Christmas Day as well as I felt so ill, and Sandra joked that we may at least be millionaires. I checked the email and said well yes we could be. When I logged on and saw the £1 million I just sat in total disbelief.”
We congratulate all of these Millionaire Raffle winners and wish them well for the future. And if these success stories have inspired you to pursue your own lottery jackpot, buy EuroMillions tickets online today and good luck in the draw this Friday!
