One ticket won the first Euro lottery jackpot of 2011, giving the owner of that ticket the very nice sum of €15,000,000, which for readers in the UK is around £12,487,500. The Euro lottery results responsible for the creation of the first jackpot winner of the year last Friday 7 January were 01, 22, 32, 48 and 50, and the Lucky Stars were 06 and 07. One of these Lucky Star numbers (06) had previously been identified as one of the two that were most overdue to appear, so anyone who had taken notice of that information may now be feeling very glad that they did.
The EuroMillions game paid out more than 1.57 million prizes last week, though of course not all of those prizes have yet been claimed, so if you haven't yet checked your tickets we would urge you to do so without delay. 8 players won €377,887 (around £259,915) each by matching the five main numbers and one Lucky Star number. 29 players won €29,582 (around £24,560) each for matching the five main numbers only, and another 84 players picked up €7,295 (around £5,010) by matching four main numbers and both Lucky Star numbers. One UK player won a Millionaire Raffle prize of £1 million thanks to them having the number GHY50499 on their ticket.
Because the first jackpot of the year has been won, the next jackpot will be worth €15 million (around £12 million). Whether we will see any more overdue numbers being drawn next time around remains to be seen, but if you fancy playing one or more of them just in case you will need to know what they are. The most overdue main numbers right now are 14, 44, 18, 37 and 25, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 09 and 05. More information on this topic, including draw frequencies for all of the numbers used in the game, can be found on our Euro lottery Statistics page.
With another €15 million jackpot up for grabs this Friday 14 January, aspiring multimillionaires everywhere would do well to have a go at the next EuroMillions draw. Buy Euro lottery tickets online today, think positive and good luck!
