One Ticket Wins Festive Jackpot

The EuroMillions lottery jackpot on Christmas Eve was won by a single ticket, and the owner of that ticket (or owners if it transpires that it belongs to a lottery syndicate) is now €19,106,756 (around £16,301,884) richer. This means they are heading towards 2011 with the kind of bank balance that most people can only ever dream about, and it is all thanks to the EuroMillions lottery results last Friday 24 December, which were 19, 36, 38, 42 and 46, and the Lucky Star numbers 02 and 08. Another 25 EuroMillions players in the UK won £1 million each thanks to the special Millionaire Raffle numbers which were drawn (see Christmas Eve Super Raffle Results for more details).

Whilst only one person won the EuroMillions jackpot, there were plenty of other EuroMillions prizes won on Christmas Eve. Eight players won €552,305 (around £388,384) by matching five main numbers and just one of the two Lucky Star numbers. 10 players won €125,388 (around £88,174) each by matching five main numbers only, and 177 players matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to pick up €5,060 (around £3,558) each. In total, more than 2.34 million EuroMillions prizes were won.

The EuroMillions jackpot has now been reset, giving players the chance to play for €15 million (around £12 million) this Friday 31 December. This Friday is of course New Year’s Eve, so the next EuroMillions game gives players everywhere the chance to enter 2011 as a brand new EuroMillionaire. If you fancy your chances of achieving this and you like including a few ‘overdue numbers’ among your selections then you should note that the most overdue main numbers right now are 14, 34, 44, 18 and 37, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 01 and 06.

Whether you include any of those ‘overdue’ numbers when you come to buy your EuroMillions tickets or you play entirely different numbers, we wish you the best of luck in becoming a big winner on New Year’s Eve! You never know, you just might hit the New Year’s Eve jackpot itself!
