£107 Million Richer – Amateur Racing Driver Takes First Prize in EuroMillions

An amateur racing driver from Surrey, UK, has zoomed into 745th place on the Sunday Times Rich List after scooping the EuroMillions jackpot worth more than £107 million. Neil Trotter, 41, purchased the winning Lucky Dip ticket from his local newsagent on his way to work after he had a feeling he “just had to play”.

It seems the lucky winner’s instincts didn’t stop there and speaking at a press conference held today Trotter said; “I walked into my dad's office on Thursday and told him 'this time tomorrow I'll be a multi-millionaire' – and I was!”

A mechanic of 15 years, Trotter also spoke about his choice to come forward publically; “I didn’t want to disappear and hide, I don’t think it would have been possible to go into hiding and plus I didn’t want to be deceitful to all my friends.”

Trotter was joined at the press conference by his partner of eight years, Nicky Ottaway, who is also celebrating the big win; “I have resigned this morning” she said, smiling.

As the UK’s fourth biggest lottery winner of all time, Trotter’s windfall is truly staggering; “It’s a real life changing amount” he said. “Everyone dreams of what they could do in the world to change things or to help people…With that sort of money you can do, you know, a lot of good.”

The saying goes that charity starts at home and Trotter confirmed his first generous deed would be to help his “struggling” sister who, on hearing the news, couldn’t stop crying.

Euro-Millions.com would like to congratulate Neil on his win and wish him and his family the best of luck for the future.
