Community Projects To Reap Rewards From Big Lottery Fund

EuroMillions players across the UK will be hoping to get their hands on a jackpot of £21 million (€30 million) on Tuesday evening, but regardless of whether or not the top prize is won there is always money raised for good causes. Every EuroMillions ticket that is sold helps to generate funds that will make a difference in local communities across the UK.

The latest round of funding has seen £2.7 million awarded to local projects by the Big Lottery Fund, and among the areas to benefit will be a number of Cornish villages. Perranzabuloe PCC will receive a grant of £10,000 to improve its village hall, while in nearby Carn Brea the 4 Elements Community Interest Company has been given £9,992 to help young unemployed people gain skills which will boost their chances of finding work.

Lyn Cole, the England grant-making director for the Big Lottery Fund, said in West Briton: “The valuable work of these leading charities and community groups is helping make a difference to the lives of some of the most valuable children and young people in our society.” To find out more about how local communities are supported by the money raised from ticket sales, visit the Good Causes section.

Playing EuroMillions allows you to do your bit for charity even if you don’t land one of the big prizes, and there is sure to be a surge of ticket sales ahead of tonight’s draw following a double rollover. The jackpot was last won on Friday 31st July when a single French ticket holder matched the winning line to scoop €24.9 million. There have still been some big winners in the last couple of draws, including the UK participant on Friday who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to pocket just over £1 million. This evening’s game will feature a top prize of £21 million (€30 million), more than enough to tempt millions into playing.

You can check out recent EuroMillions Results to see if you have won any prizes, and then make sure to get tickets for tonight’s game by either entering online or popping into any authorised retailer in one of the countries taking part. In the UK, the Good Causes Fund will benefit and, you never know, you could bag a fortune. Good luck!
