Tonight’s EuroMillions Jackpot is £111 Million!

Lottery fans across Europe are snapping up tickets in droves for tonight’s EuroMillions draw with its gargantuan jackpot of £111 million (€142 million). There have been three rollovers since Friday 3rd October’s Superdraw, leaving the top prize at its highest amount since Tuesday 25th June 2013, when an Irish and Belgian player shared £159.5 million (€187.9 million).

Anyone scooping the lot tonight would surely have their own ideas of how to spend their newfound fortune but, if the stress of writing the world’s ultimate shopping list is proving too much, they could take inspiration from what other EuroMillions winners have done with their dough.

Colin and Christine Weir from Largs in Scotland bagged a £161 million windfall in July 2011 and, as well as donating £3.5 million to the Scottish National Party and the Yes Scotland independence campaign, set about spoiling their loved ones rotten. They bought a number of luxury cars for friends, including a top-of-the-range £88,000 Mercedes. In addition, when they moved into a stunning £850,000 mansion they decided that they’d donate their old home to a neighbour who was a teenage mum, which definitely beats having to deal with estate agents, doesn’t it?

Nigel Page and Justine Laycock from Gloucestershire won £56 million in February 2010 and invested in a £4 million mansion whilst also giving away their old house, this time to their cleaner! Their new estate has been described as an “eco-palace” with a solar park capturing sunlight in 20 panels which convert it to electricity proving that, even with millions in the bank, people still resent huge heating bills.

Of course you don’t have to splash out on extravagances; Dave and Angela Dawes from Cambridgeshire won £101 million in 2011, yet married in a very small scale ceremony in Gretna Green attended by just five guests.

However you would plan to spend £111 million, you need to get hold of a ticket first, and you can pick them up from any authorised retailer or visit the Play EuroMillions page to avoid the queues that will build up as the day goes on. Good luck!
