UK Jackpot Winners Named

The British ticket that scooped half of the €129 million EuroMillions jackpot last Friday 12 February was purchased by Nigel Page and Justine Laycock, a couple from Cirencester in Gloucestershire. Their £56 million win makes the couple the biggest lottery prize winners in the UK, beating the record previously set by Les and Sam Scadding and a syndicate of players who shared a EuroMillions jackpot worth £91.1 million in November 2009.

Nigel and Justine have been a couple for eight years and have three children from previous relationships. Nigel runs his own property maintenance business and Justine works with an estate agency. Both Nigel and Justine have said that they will give up work, and with £56 million to spend we can’t blame them!

So what do the winners of the UK’s biggest every lottery prize intend to do with their new-found wealth? Nigel, who has enjoyed sky-diving as a hobby for the past nine years, has a rather unusual plan…

“I’ve jumped out of a plane at 12,000 feet but that’s nothing compared to how I’m feeling now,” he said. “I’ve been a sky diving fan for many years and I would love to set up my own indoor sky-diving centre. There are only three in the country and I plan to use some of the win to set up the first one in the South West.”

Justine’s shopping list is a little more predictable. “It would be lovely to get a five or six bedroom house with a pool and lots of space but we really enjoy the area we live in now so we won’t move far,” she explained. “We’d also like to buy somewhere abroad where we can go on holiday but it’ll have to be in the school holidays!”

Winning a EuroMillions jackpot has given Nigel and Justine a chance to fulfil all of their ambitions and live the life of their dreams. Play EuroMillions online today and this time next week you could find yourself in a very similar situation!
