Draw Summary
The EuroMillions draw on Friday 20th September saw a tremendous £167 million (€188 million) jackpot up for grabs – the culmination of 17 consecutive rollovers since July. The jackpot stood as the largest offered in nearly two years and would have been a record-breaking jackpot win in all countries bar Portugal and Spain, two countries that have seen players win the maximum jackpot of €190 million. UK couple Adrian and Gillian Bayford also won €190 million in 2012 but the exchange rate at the time resulted in them receiving £148 million - nearly £20 million less than Friday's jackpot.
As it turned out, the 20th September draw’s record-breaking jackpot eluded players across Europe once more, causing it to roll over yet again and hit the €190 million cap ahead of the draw on Tuesday 24th September. More than 48.6 million entries were purchased in all nine countries, with UK players winning a total of £4 million in prizes. Thirteen players won in the second prize tier, though none of those tickets were bought in the UK. On Tuesday, with the jackpot at its maximum, any excess prize funds will be allocated to the second prize tier, creating even larger prizes for players to win.
