How to Play Euromillions

The EuroMillions is Europe’s biggest rolling jackpot lottery game. Draws take place twice a week on a Tuesday night and Friday night. In order to win a prize a minimum of two main numbers need to be matched. You have to pick 5 balls from a selection of 1 – 50 and then two additional numbers from 1 – 11 that are called ‘Lucky Stars.’ In order to win the main jackpot you have to match all five main drawn balls and the two Lucky Stars.

To play the Euromillions Lottery you have numerous options; from playing online to purchasing your tickets from a retailer. Here we look at how to play the Euromillions using all options available to you.

Playing Euromillions Online from the UK

First of all you need to set up an account which is free to do at the official Lottery retailers. Registering an account is pretty straightforward with just a few details required in order to get started.  You will need to complete four separate stages of registration which require details like your name, address, email address etc. Once you have completed the sign-up process you are ready to purchase Euromillions tickets online.

Adding funds to your account is simple but you can only use a Debit Card to play Euromillions online from the official retailer. The system is secure and uses the MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa system.

Follow links to EuroMillions play games page where you will find the online pay slip. Filling this in is simple – just select the draw you want to play in, either Tuesday or Friday or both and the amount of weeks you want to play it for. Select your five main numbers and enter them into the first five boxes and pick two Lucky Stars to complete the last two boxes on the online payslip.

If you don’t want to pick the numbers yourself just click ‘Lucky dip’ on the left and a random number generator will select the numbers for you. Alternatively you might want to use our handy Euromillions Random Number.  You can play four lines per payslip  but if you wish to play more just press ‘add more lines’.

Finally, just click ‘Play’ and you will receive a notification via the e-mail you gave when you set up your account just to confirm which draw you have entered into and what the numbers are you selected. You can if you want to print this email out but it is entirely up to you as all the tickets you have brought will be on your account on the National Lottery website. If you win then you will also receive an email saying ‘News about your ticket,’ but it will not tell you have much you have won. To find out what your winnings are you will need to log into your National Lottery account.

Playing Euromillions Online from Outside of the UK

Using the Lottery Concierge Services means that you do not have to be in one of the participating countries to purchase a Euromillions ticket online. The service will buy a ticket on your behalf in one of the participating countries and add it to your account ensuring that all tickets that you purchase, Euromillions or any other world lottery, are safe and secure.

In order to be able to play from outside of the U.K you need to have an account with the Lottery Concierge Service. Registering with the service is easy and will only take a few minutes. The account is free to open and means that you can receive e-mail and SMS notifications if anything happens with the lottery tickets that you have bought.  The Lottery Concierge Service accepts a number of payment methods for purchasing Euromillions tickets online; these include debit and credit cards, Neteller and Moneybookers.

Then you need to find the EuroMillions page by clicking ‘Play On-line’ and selecting Europe – EuroMillions, which will then take you to the page where you can start to play the EuroMillions Lottery. Here you will then find some brief information about when the next draw will take place and how much the estimated jackpot will be.

Selecting your numbers is easy as you just click on the 5 main numbers and 2 lucky stars you would like to play with from the yellow box on the left hand side. You can play with a minimum of three lines (or blocks as they are referred to) with varying costs. Playing at a Local Retailer

In the UK there are various outlets which can sell tickets to you to play Euro Millions. All you have to do is walk in one of the National Lottery retailers and fill out a play slip there and then. You pick the day you wish to play on, Tuesday or Friday or both, then the 5 numbers and the 2 lucky star’s however if you don’t want to pick you ask out the counter for a Lucky Dip.

Once you have made you selection just hand the playing card over the counter at the retailers, who will then process your ticket and give you a hard copy which becomes your reference. So do not lose this copy because if you do then you can’t claim back your prize if your numbers are picked and you win.
