All players of the UK version of EuroMillions will be automatically entered into the UK Millionaire Raffle draw which could see one lucky player win £1 million. About The Millionaire Raffle
The EuroMillions UK Millionaire Raffle game guarantees that one player in the UK will win £1 million in every draw. As the two games are separate it is possible to win a prize both on the main EuroMillions game and the Millionaire Raffle, so players are advised to check their tickets carefully.
Since the odds of winning are dependent on the number of tickets sold rather than matching a pool of numbers, the odds of winning the Millionaire Raffle game will vary depending on the number of players in each game. For example, a midweek EuroMillions draw tends to have a lower number of players which means that your odds of winning midweek are better than winning on Friday.
If you have won a Millionaire Raffle prize then you will need to claim within 180 days of the draw date and as per the EuroMillions Rules. If you do not claim in time, your prize will be allocated to the UK Good Causes fund.
History of the Millionaire Raffle
The Millionaire Raffle was first introduced on Friday 13th November 2009 to offer UK players an extra chance of winning a prize when they played EuroMillions. Although one lucky player is chosen to win £1 million during every draw, special games are also held which pay out more prizes.
In the month leading up to Christmas 2011, EuroMillions launched Millionaires Month which created 50 Millionaire Raffle winners in the space of a month. Read more about this by visiting the Millionaires Month page.
Occasionally, the Millionaire Raffle will hold special editions of the game which will see 100 players win £1 million. These one off draws are usually held to coincide with a special event, such as the opening of the Olympic Games in July 2012.
The draw on Friday 27th July 2012 broke the world record for making the highest number of millionaires in one night, with 97 of the 100 prizes claimed.
£1 Million Every Month for a Year
On Friday 31st May 2013, the UK Millionaire Raffle offered one lucky player the chance to win £1 million every month for a year instead of the usual one-off £1 million prize.
Christmas and New Year’s Special Draws
There are often special versions of the Millionaire Raffle game held around the festive season which give away multiple raffle prizes. In the past, these games have been held on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
