Tuck Shop Ticket

The Euromillions draw just before Xmas 2007 ensured that John McGivern, from County Down in Northern Ireland won a great early Christmas present of £373,854.60. He correctly matched the five main balls, but only one Lucky Star ball for the 21 December 2007 draw. If he’d matched the other Lucky Star he’d have won £20,000,000 that night!

But John’s not complaining, he’s happy living in Warrenpoint where he’s been for most of his life, but now he plans to buy his own home. He’ll still work at a shipping supplies company, and keep in regular contact with his sic sisters who all live nearby. He’d wanted to call them up when he’d found out about his win, but it was in the early hours of the morning when he turned on his TV to check, so didn’t want to wake any of them up. Instead he just sat shell-shocked staring at the TV screen.

Although John has played the lottery since it started, and won a few small prizes, it was his Lucky Dip ticket bought at The Tuck Shop that gave him his big win.
