The Euromillions draw on Tuesday, 24rd July 2012 saw no jackpot winners for the tenth time in a row, which means the top prize for the draw on Friday 27th July 2012 is a whopping estimated €140 / £105 million. This massive jackpot also coincides with the UK 100 Millionaire’s draw which will also be taking place that evening, and promises to make a guaranteed 100 ticket holders instant millionaires. All of this of course, is on the same evening as the Olympics’ opening ceremony, so Friday evening promises to be one to remember.
The 100 UK Millionaire Raffle on Friday was deliberately arranged to occur at the same time as the start of the Olympics, as one of its purposes was to thank loyal lottery players who have bought tickets for the lotteries, which have helped generate some of the revenue needed to put on the Games. As most players know, 28% of all Euromillions ticket revenue goes towards Good Causes, which helps fund sports, community and social events around Britain and Europe.
The Euromillions draw on Friday promises to be one of the biggest in terms of ticket sales the UK has ever seen. It is strongly advisable to buy your tickets for Friday’s draw TODAY, either from a retailer or through an online ticket concierge, to ensure that you beat the huge amount of traffic anticipated on Friday itself. It is expected that retailers will sell approximately four times the number of tickets that they normally would sell for a Friday night draw, so that’s a queue you do not want to be in!
With tickets on Friday itself anticipated to sell at a rate of 800 per second – yes, per second – and an extra 20 million play slips being distributed, it is highly advisable to beat the rush and organise your purchases today. If you prefer too, you can buy Euromillions tickets online, which will mean your tickets will be purchased automatically and you don’t even need to leave your chair!
So good luck everyone, and check back here for all the news and updates on Monday next week, where the results will be out!
