Super September

A Super September jackpot worth an estimated €130million (£88 million) will be won this Friday 28 September thanks to a special guaranteed payout draw. Whilst the Euromillions jackpot is usually rolled over if there is no top prize winner, this week it will simply be rolled down to the next prize level that has winning players. This means that Euromillions players have more chance than ever of becoming one of the latest lottery millionaires.

Euro Millions will be won - and was won!

Winners Update: The special draw did not produce any winners in in the top prize category for matching 5+2. The jackpot duly rolled down and was shared by 14 players in the 5+1 category; six winners came from the UK, five from Spain, two from France and one from Belgium. Each player won £6,989,367 or €9,839,058.

Euromillions requires players to match 5 main numbers from 1-50 and 2 Lucky Star numbers from 1-9. If just one player achieves this on Friday (the odds of doing so are 1 in 76,275,360) then they will scoop the entire €130 million cash prize. If several players match 5 main numbers and 2 Lucky Star numbers then they will share the €130 million between them. And if no player qualifies for the top prize then the money will be shared between those who successfully match 5 main numbers and either 1 of the 2 Lucky Star numbers (the odds of doing this are 1 in 5,448,240).

There have already been some big Euromillions winners in recent months. In August, two players in the UK won €52.6 million and €39.4 million) respectively, and just last Friday a player won €27.2 million. This Friday’s €130 million guaranteed payout puts all of those wins in the shade – so much so that even if there are six jackpot winners, each would walk away with around €21.6 million!

Whatever happens, Euromillions players as a general population are guaranteed to be €130 million richer after this Friday’s draw, and that fact looks set to send ticket sales through the roof over the next few days. People who do not normally play Euromillions will be tempted to give themselves a chance in light of the life-changing fortune on offer, and many regular players will buy buying an extra ticket or two in an effort to increase their chances.
