SuperEnalotto Jackpot Soars!

Italian lottery players are enjoying a period of intense excitement as the SuperEnalotto jackpot soars to ever increasing heights. The SuperEnalotto game is played three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, but no player has won the jackpot since the end of January 2009. This means that a long series of rollovers has created a SuperEnalotto jackpot worth an astonishing €143.9 million (around £124.3 million) for the draw tonight (Thursday 20 August). If that isn’t won, an even bigger jackpot will be on offer this Saturday 22 August!

The long series of rollovers that the SuperEnalotto game has experienced is probably due to the fact that the odds of winning the jackpot outright are fairly steep. Players have to choose 6 main numbers from the range 1 to 90 and get all six numbers correct to win the top prize, and the odds of doing this are 1 in 622,614,630. When you consider that the odds of winning the EuroMillions lottery jackpot are 1 in 76,275,360 you will note that winning the EuroMillions jackpot is many times easier.

Of course, the whole point of playing lottery games is to try and beat long odds, so it could be argued that a bigger challenge brings the eventual jackpot winners greater satisfaction. If that’s the case then the eventual winner of the current SuperEnalotto jackpot will probably feel more satisfied than any lottery player in Europe has felt for a long time!

Although SuperEnalotto used to be played only by individuals in Italy, the ability to buy tickets online means that anyone of legal age can now have a go at the game. Within €143.9 million on offer, now might be the perfect time for you to do so.

Whilst lottery players are naturally excited about the SuperEnalotto game, none of us should forget that EuroMillions itself also has a very big jackpot up for grabs this week. The EuroMillions jackpot for this Friday 21 August is an impressive €74 million (around £64 million), so if the long odds of SuperEnalotto don’t appeal to you despite the massive jackpot, you can have a go at EuroMillions instead!
