EuroMillions Results for Friday 1st January 2016

New Year’s Day saw the first EuroMillions draw of 2016, with more than 30.4 million entries submitted as players hoped to begin the year by putting a jackpot worth £31.3 million (€42 million) into their bank accounts. While the top prize rolled over once again, over 2.1 million participants were successful in grabbing sums of cash for matching some of the winning line.

The winning numbers were 4, 37, 38, 39 and 44 with Lucky Stars 4 and 7. Six players - two from Belgium, two from France, one from Spain and one from the UK - matched five main numbers and a Lucky Star, pocketing £183,740 (€243,807) each in the process. Ten additional ticket holders from France, Spain and the UK each won £36,748 (€48,761) when they matched five main numbers.

All other prizes distributed to last night’s lucky winners were worth between £3.50 (€4.70) for matching two main numbers and £3,602 (€4,780) for matching four main numbers and both Lucky Stars.

In the UK, a single participant jump-started their 2016 when they matched the winning Millionaire Maker code of FWT985411 to snag £1 million. A French player is now €1 million better off after matching the winning My Million code of TR 527 7485. Visit the EuroMillions Results page for more details about Friday’s draw, including a full prize breakdown and information about other supplementary games played in participating EuroMillions countries.

On Tuesday 5th January, the second EuroMillions draw of the year will offer a rollover jackpot worth an estimated £36.3 million (€49 million). With such a large top prize on offer, it just makes sense to buy EuroMillions tickets or join an online syndicate for the chance to win a slice of cash that would make you - and your bank manager - very happy indeed. Good luck and have fun!
