It was quickly announced that the only ticket to match all the winning numbers was sold in the UK, and the player has wasted little time in making contact with the National Lottery. An appointment will now have to be made to validate the claim.

Big Winners
The jackpot had previously rolled over six times in a row since a family syndicate from Co Dublin in Ireland scooped a stunning €175 million (£152 million) on Tuesday 19th February. No further information will be released about whether the latest winner is an individual or a syndicate, or where the winning ticket was sold, unless the ticket holder goes public.
All three of the jackpots to have been snapped up since the start of the year have been worth at least £70 million, making it a memorable year for big winners. The UK is the only country to have had more than one jackpot winner in 2019, and has now had 76 in total since EuroMillions launched in 2004.
Chris and Colin Weir from Largs in Scotland landed the UK’s largest prize, £161 million in July 2011, while Adrian and Gillian Bayford banked £148 million the following year. The £114 million claimed by Frances and Patrick Connolly earlier in 2019 ranks as the UK’s fourth-biggest prize.
