Winning EuroMillions Ticket Will Expire in the New Year

Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is causing huge excitement across the continent, having reached a massive £60 million (€83 million) as a result of seven rollovers, but one player could already be celebrating becoming a millionaire if only they had checked their numbers. A participant, who bought their ticket for the draw on Friday 10th July from a retailer in Hull, has until Wednesday 6th January to claim a £1 million Millionaire Maker prize or they will lose the opportunity forever.

The player’s entry contained the winning automatically-generated code VCY513088 for the supplementary EuroMillions game, but they have so far failed to make themselves known to lottery officials in order to receive their seven-figure haul. EuroMillions and Lotto prizes must be claimed within 180 days of the winning draw or the prize, and the interest it has accrued, is transferred to the Good Causes Fund.

The Hullensian ticket holder may have forgotten about their ticket as they rushed to get ready for the West Park Party in the city on the day after the draw. Labrinth, Union J and Aswad played at the gig, which was one of the events created to mark the run up to Hull’s year as UK City of Culture in 2017. If you spent that morning mobilising a rabble of rowdy kids to get to the venue on time, rather than utilising the Millionaire Maker Checker to see if you were a winner, you need to root through every handbag, shopping bag, pair of trousers and biscuit tin in your house to find it before 6th January!

Finding this missing ticket is the difference between the best Christmas ever and a very sobering New Year, were you to come across the entry after the deadline had passed. With average house prices in the East Yorkshire city standing at £110,498, you could build a property portfolio with the proceeds. Another option would be to spend a chunk on some fun family holidays and, with ships sailing regularly from Hull’s port to mainland Europe and nearby Humberside Airport connecting the region to the rest of the world, you would be spoilt for choice!

The best way to ensure you never miss out on a big lottery prize is to buy EuroMillions tickets online. You will receive an email if you are due a prize and you can never lose the entry as it is always safe in your player account. If you do buy physical tickets, make sure you sign the back of them straight away and store them somewhere memorable! Tickets for tonight’s £60 million draw are on sale now, online and from authorised retailers.
