Euromillions Winners

Becoming a Euromillions Winner has become a dream come true for hundreds of players across Europe since it launched on February 7, 2004. The first draw took place in Paris On Friday, 13 February 2004. Currently France, Spain, United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland participate in this huge pan-European lottery, with more countries looking to join.

From May 10th 2011 there has been a surge in the number of Euromillions winners with the introduction of a prize level for matching just two main numbers. What is more, a massive euromillion winner's jackpot, which reached the heady heights of €185,000,000 for the first time on Friday 8th July 2011 after 13 rollovers, is likely to become more common with the introduction of two more lucky star numbers on the same day.

Biggest Euromillions Winners

Biggest Euromillions Jackpot

The Biggest EuroMillions Jackpot pool that was won ever was for Draw Number 397 on Tuesday 12th July 2011 and the winners, Christine and Colin Weir from Largs in Scotland went public on 15th July 2011. However the same jackpot was available for the week draw prior (396) but failed to find a winner who matched all 5 main numbers and 2 Lucky Stars. Interestingly enough had the jackpot been won on draw number 396 the Sterling jackpot would have been higher than that won by the single ticket holder for draw number 397.

Largest Single Euromillions Winner

The largest single winner of Euromillions came from the draw on the same day, 12th July 2011. Christine and Colin Weir from Largs in Scotland netted themselves a healthy jackpot of £161,653,000 (€185,000,000) on draw number 397.

Euromillions Syndicate winners

The most notable win from a syndicate for Euromillions came in November 2009 on draw number 300 when a six-strong syndicate from Merseyside, UK, who work for IT firm Hewlett Packard shared a jackpot prize of £45,570,836 (€51,099,838). The numbers drawn were 11, 19, 34, 43, 45 with Lucky Stars 5 and 9.

Rolldown Winners

Previously the rules for Euromillions stated that a jackpot could not rollover more than 11 times and should this be the case then a "rolldown" would take place. This meant that if on the 12th draw no winners matched 5 main numbers and two lucky stars that the jackpot would move down to be shared amongst the second tier prize winners. On 17th November 2006 a record breaking jackpot of £124 million / €183 million rolled down to 20 winners who had each match 5 main numbers + 1 Lucky Star. Each winner took home £7.1 million / €9.6 million - four of whom were from France, there were seven UK players, three Spanish, three Portuguese, two Irish players and a Belgian player who each took a share of the jackpot.

For draw number 396 there were roll down prizes for the match 5 + 1 winners of which there were 6. Each of these winners took home €4,576,071/£3,314,251 as the Euromillions jackpot had reached its cap of €185 million.

The following draw, number 397 also saw roll down winners because of the jackpot cap but this time there were 11 match 5 and 2 Lucky Star winners who each took home €2,435,037/£1,779,995.
