National Lottery 25th Birthday Draws
The National Lottery has announced all sorts of ways that it is celebrating its birthday, including special Must Be Won Lotto draws and anniversary scratchcards, and EuroMillions players also have a lot to look forward to.
It has already been revealed that 25 millionaires will be made in the UK on 8th November, and now another special draw is in the works. The National Lottery has said that 10 UK millionaires will be guaranteed in EuroMillions on 31st December. These prizes will come through the Millionaire Maker raffle, continuing the recent tradition of having a special raffle almost every year around the Christmas and New Year period.
Ten winning Millionaire Maker codes will therefore be selected on New Year’s Eve, instead of the usual one, which will ensure that 10 UK EuroMillions players start 2020 with £1 million in their bank accounts.

History of the Christmas and New Year Raffle
Christmas and New Year Millionaire Maker raffles have become a tradition in their own right, as there has been a special edition of the draw during every festive period since 2010.
The festive Millionaire Maker raffle in 2018 bucked the trend of being a Christmas draw and took place on New Year’s Day 2019. Ten winning codes were drawn on the same day that a €129 million EuroMillions jackpot was won. In 2017, EuroMillions draws did not fall on Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, so instead a special Millionaire Maker raffle, in which 10 winning codes were drawn, was held on 29th December.
Prior to that, players could look forward to the now-defunct Mega Week and Mega Friday promotions. During these events, special prizes like five-star holidays were given away in addition to millions of pounds in cash. The last Mega Friday draw took place 2014, while Mega Week ran from 2015 to 2017.
