EuroMillions Superdraw Jackpot Won - €143 Million in Belgium

Friday's impressive €143 million EuroMillions jackpot has been won by a single ticketholder in Belgium. This is the 13th EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025, and although it's not breaking any records, it's still a phenomenal sum!

The Winning Numbers

Only one ticket in Belgium managed to match all the winning numbers: 2, 8, 13, 29, 49, and 2-11 for the Lucky Star numbers. Seven players also managed to win the second prize by matching all five main numbers and one Lucky Star, including five in the UK, taking home £74,535.80 / €110,382 each.

What Made the Jackpot so High?

A €178.6 million EuroMillions jackpot was won on the 28th of November in France, resetting the grand prize to its starting value of €17 million. So how come only two draws later, a €143 million jackpot was claimed?

As it happened, a special "Superdraw" was scheduled for the 5th of December. In this event, the EuroMillions jackpot is bumped straight to €130 million, regardless of the jackpot value for the previous draw. The jackpot of the 5th went unwon, and continued to roll up from there; the following draw, it was valued at €143 million when the Belgian ticket managed to win it!

Another Good Year for Belgium

Despite having a population just under 12 million, this marks Belgium's third EuroMillions jackpot win of 2025, out of 13 total wins. To put that in perspective, the population of all nine EuroMillions countries is approximately 234,000,000. So far this year, Belgium makes up 23% of all EuroMillions jackpot wins, despite making up only 5% of the EuroMillions player base.

Notice the heading says 'another'? This isn't the first time Belgium has been overrepresented in the EuroMillions jackpot tables. They also won 2 out of 16 jackpots (12.5%) in 2024, and 2 out of 20 jackpots in 2023 (10%). Not bad for roughly 5% of potential players!

What Next for EuroMillions?

The jackpot will be reset, once again, to its starting value of €17 million, and draws will continue as usual. However, with Christmas and New Year coming up, keep an eye out for lottery promotions - national lotteries often spice things up at this time of year.
