UK Player Wins £170 Million EuroMillions Jackpot

A EuroMillions player in the UK has pocketed over £170 million after matching all the winning numbers on Tuesday 8th October. Update (10/10/2019): The jackpot winner has now claimed their prize!

It comes after the jackpot hit its cap for only the fourth time in history and instantly makes the lucky ticket holder one of the biggest EuroMillions winners of all time.

The winning numbers were: 7, 10, 15, 44 and 49 with Lucky Stars 3 & 12. The single winning ticket won the jackpot of £170,221,000.

In an eagerly anticipated draw, there were more than 4.8 million prizes given away in total, but there was only one ticket from all nine participating countries that matched the full winning line to snag the jackpot. View the results for more information about the latest draw.

It was quickly announced that the winning entry was sold in the UK, and the wait will now begin for the player to come forward and claim their money. They will also have to decide whether to go public or stay anonymous.

The UK has now had 79 jackpot winners since EuroMillions launched in 2004, and the latest success is the largest in the country's history. The Biggest Win of 2019 So Far

It has been an astonishing year for big wins already in 2019, and Tuesday’s jackpot ranks as the highest of the lot – above the €175 million (£152 million) awarded to an Irish family syndicate on Tuesday 19th February.

Other big wins have included the £123 million claimed anonymously by a UK player in June, along with the £114 million jackpot that set the ball rolling all the way back on 1st January. Frances and Patrick Connolly from Northern Ireland landed that huge prize, revealing when they came forward that they planned to share the money with more than 50 loved ones.

There has not been a payout as large as the latest win since a player from Spain won €190 million the last time the jackpot cap was reached in October 2017. It took a record-breaking run of 18 rollovers to push the top prize up to its maximum amount for the draw on Tuesday 24th September, and it then went another four draws before finally being won.

Because the jackpot had remained at its cap for so long, Tuesday’s draw was a ‘Must Be Won’ draw, in which the €190 million prize money was guaranteed to be given away. If no one had matched all five numbers and both Lucky Stars, the entire jackpot would have been shared by winners in the next tier below, likely the ‘Match 5+1’ tier.

The jackpot will now reset to €17 million (est. £15 million) for the next draw on Tuesday, giving you another chance to win big. Take part online or visit an authorised retailer to give yourself a chance of winning.
