EuroMillions Live Updates: Tuesday's £169M Must Be Won Draw

View live updates from tonight's historic £170 million Must Be Won EuroMillions draw. One UK ticket holder scooped the top prize, but over 4.8 million players across the continent became prize winners.

22:28 - That's it for tonight's live updates! Thank you for joining us on one of the biggest nights in EuroMillions history. The next draw will take place on Friday with an estimated £15 million top prize up for grabs.

22:24 - The UK prize amounts are now confirmed. The jackpot winner has landed an incredible £170,221,000 top prize, while an additional UK player has won £3,696,996.80 for matching the five main numbers and one Lucky Star.

21:58 - Congratulations to all winners in tonight's EuroMillions draw. After 22 consecutive rollovers, the jackpot has finally been won by a single ticket sold in the UK. In total, over 4.8 MILLION players across Europe won prizes, so check the How to Claim page if you're one of them.

The jackpot now resets to the base level of €17/£15 million for Friday 11th October.

21:45 - In addition to one lucky ticket holder scooping the entire jackpot, one lucky UK player has also won £1 million on the Millionaire Maker! The winning code is: VWKQ23585.

21:00 - BREAKING: One UK ticket holder has won the entire €190/£170 million EuroMillions jackpot! More to follow...

20:49 - Remember, the entire €190 million jackpot MUST BE WON tonight! We should find out shortly whether anyone has matched all the numbers or if the prize money has rolled down to the next winning tier.

20:34 - Got multiple lines of numbers to check? Use the ticket checker to have them automatically verified for you. Prize amounts will be released hopefully within the next hour or so, which should tell us whether or not the jackpot has rolled down!

20:18 - THE RESULTS ARE IN! The winning numbers for Tuesday 8th October are: 7, 10, 15, 44 and 49 with Lucky Stars 3 & 12. View draw details.

20:04 - Tonight's EuroMillions draw will be taking place shortly. The results are expected in around 15 to 20 minutes time, so stay tuned to see if you're in for a big win this evening!

19:54 - UK players will also have the Millionaire Maker code to check - matching the winning code correctly will land you a cool £1 million! The code is usually announced shortly after the night's EuroMillions numbers.

In Ireland, players have the Ireland Only Raffle to check. In each EuroMillions draw, 10 codes are announced that each win €5,000 when matched correctly! The raffle codes are usually announced at around 8:30pm.

19:47 - The jackpot has only reached its €190 million cap on three previous occasions - in 2012, 2014 and 2017. It has always been won in the first couple of draws at the cap and has always gone to a single ticket. The UK, Portugal and Spain have pocketed these prizes. Where will it go tonight? Will it roll down?

19:40 - For the EuroMillions aficionados out there, there has only ever been one other Must Be Won draw. Back in 2006, when Tony Blair was still UK Prime Minister, Italy had just won the World Cup and Fedde Le Grand's 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' was top of the charts, a Must Be Won draw on 17th November saw 20 players in the second tier win £6.7 million (€9.6 million) each. Back then there was no jackpot cap, but the top prize could only roll over 11 times in a row before it had to be won.

19:32 - The advantage of a Must Be Won draw over a regular EuroMillions game is the improved odds of winning. You might not have to match all the numbers to land a share of the huge jackpot.

19:14 - If the jackpot does have to roll down this evening, it is most likely to be shared between players in the 'Match 5 + 1' tier. The last four draws have produced eight, seven, four and three winners in this tier, so we could perhaps expect a similar number tonight. If that is the case, each player may end up winning more than €20 million!

18:40 - Friday's rollover was the fourth at the jackpot cap, setting up tonight's Must Be Won draw. As the name suggests, the top prize has to be won, but how is that guaranteed? Here's how:

  • If anyone matches all the numbers, they win the jackpot as normal. The €190 million will be split if there is more than one winner in the 'Match 5 + 2' category.
  • If there are no winners in the 'Match 5 + 2' category, the jackpot will roll down to the highest category in which there are winners. These players will split the full €190 million, as well as receiving their own prize.

18:24 - When the top prize hits €190 million, no more funds can be added to it.

The money that would normally push the jackpot higher has to go to the next prize tier with winners (most likely Match 5 + 1 Lucky Star), creating much bigger payouts than average for that tier. That has been the case since the jackpot first reached its cap on 24th September.

Winning ticket holders in the second tier have been receiving multimillion-pound prizes rather than the typical value of around £270,000.

Some winners have already claimed their money, like the online player from Surrey known as Mr V, who snapped up £3.6 million and subsequently revealed that he planned to buy a new home.

18:05 - During this incredible run of rollovers you may have already come to know that EuroMillions has a jackpot cap of €190 million. However, you might not know that it can only stay at this amount for a maximum of five draws before it has to be won in that fifth and final draw. As the jackpot cap was originally hit on Tuesday 24th September, tonight is the fifth and final draw, which means it must be won!

17:50 - Before we get into the ins and outs of the gigantic jackpot and why it has to be won, remember that you need to take part to have a chance of winning. We recommend getting your entries early to avoid any last-minute delays before the ticket cut-off.

16:48 - Stand by for all the facts you need to know about the jackpot cap, previous big wins and all the permutations for this evening’s results - what more could you want on a Tuesday evening?

16:04 - Are you ready for the biggest EuroMillions draw of all time? That may sound like a bold promise, but tonight will see only the second Must Be Won draw in EuroMillions history and the first time ever that €190 million is guaranteed to be won.
