EuroMillions Players Aim to Win First Jackpot of 2017

Tonight will see EuroMillions players compete for the honour of becoming the first jackpot winner of 2017 as they all dream of winning an estimated jackpot of £39 million (€45 million). The jackpot total has been on the rise ever since the top prize was last won, when a single Spanish ticket holder scooped a massive £21.5 million (€25.2 million) reward on Tuesday 27th December.

The balls will be dispensed in Paris tonight for the third time this year and, in recent times, the wait for a first jackpot winner of the year has been a relatively short affair. The top prize was won within the first three draws of January between 2009 and 2015, but there was a slightly longer lull at the beginning of 2016. EuroMillions fans were forced to watch on as eight draws came and went, until finally, in the ninth draw, celebrations erupted as two ticket holders from France and Ireland landed an equal share of a £50.3 million (€66.1 million) pot.

Players of the UK will be especially keen to land tonight’s eight-figure prize, given that the nation’s last jackpot win came on Friday 16th September, when a ticket holder walked away with a £34 million sum. Since then, ticket holders of the co-founding country have found victories hard to come by, despite a string of huge wins for others on the continent. This lack of recent glory has allowed both France and Spain to increase their lead a the top of the winners’ table, while Portugal remains in fourth, just a solitary win behind the UK.

It’s not just the prospect of a £39 million prize spurring players on in tonight’s draw. There are also a number of supplementary games to be played, offering a veritable smorgasbord of fabulous prizes, including €1 million jackpots in France’s My Million and Ireland’s EuroMillions Plus, while the UK Millionaire Maker is also guaranteed to reward two lucky players with a prize of £1 million apiece.

So, if you would like to be in with a chance of winning tonight’s jackpot or one of the fantastic supplementary prizes on offer, simply purchase your EuroMillions tickets online or from any authorised retailer in participating countries. Best of luck!
