€48.7 Million EuroMillions Jackpot Goes to French Player

After only three rollovers, the EuroMillions jackpot was won in last night’s draw. The impressive amount of €48.7 million will go to a French player.

On Tuesday 14th May, there was only one ticket which matched all the winning numbers. The numbers drawn in this lucky draw were 2, 8, 17, 28 and 35, with the Lucky Stars 7 and 9. Later that night, it was confirmed that the ticket was purchased in France. The exact location hasn’t been confirmed yet, but the winner will now have 60 days to claim their prize.

The French player was not the only lucky one on this occasion. Five other participants managed to match five main numbers and one Lucky Star, with each of them winning a great prize of over €104,000. As France was under a lucky spell, two of these tickets went to some French players. The remaining three went to the UK, Spain, and Belgium.

It seems like France attracts EuroMillions jackpots like a magnet, as this is the fourth time a French winner gets the top prize since the start of 2024. The first win of the year, with a jackpot of €87.9 million, went to this participating country in January, followed by another win of €73.4 million in February, and the last one in April. The previous win was also the biggest for the current year as the jackpot was worth €166.7 million.

So far, France has the most jackpot winners since the start of the game in 2004, followed by the UK and Spain. You can check out the EuroMillions winner statistics to see information about each participating country.

What’s Next?

The EuroMillions jackpot has now been reset to its base amount of €17 million (£14 million), so if you want a chance of becoming a millionaire, make sure you enter the game on Tuesdays and Fridays before the ticket sales close.

Next month, you’ll have even more reasons to enter this game as a Summer Superdraw will be held. The big event will happen on Friday 7th June and it will have a guaranteed starting jackpot of €130 million.

Until then, make sure you check the latest results so you don’t miss out on any prizes you might have won.
