Co Meath Shop Sells Second Winning EuroMillions Ticket in Eight Months

Friday evening’s EuroMillions draw may not have produced a jackpot winner, but one shop in Co Meath did sell a EuroMillions Plus ticket worth an incredible €500,000. But this wasn’t the first time Lady Luck had graced this particular establishment with her warming presence.

The Carlanstown branch of Centra first hit the headlines last August after selling a EuroMillions ticket worth €436,958. Eight months on and the successful store has been at it again as it got one prosperous punter’s bank holiday weekend off to the perfect start. The Quick Pick ticket holder, who is yet to contact National Lottery headquarters in Dublin, correctly matched the numbers 5, 9, 14, 40 and 50 to land themselves the half-a-million Euro reward.

Pat Brogan, the shop’s owner, took great pleasure in knowing that the dreams of another one of his customers had become reality: “We are absolutely thrilled for the lucky winner and we wish them all the best with their newfound fortune,” he told reporters. He was also keen to point out that there had been a huge increase in footfall following the draw: “With news of the win spreading fast throughout the locality, there is a tremendous buzz in the shop as hopeful customers come in to check their EuroMillions tickets.”

National Lottery officials in Ireland are now keen to track down the winning ticket holder as quickly as possible, with the lucky lottery fan having 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward and claim their prize. If you would like to learn more about playing EuroMillions Plus, or any of the other exciting supplementary games available to EuroMillions ticket holders, visit the Special Draws page for more details.

Tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot is estimated to be worth £55 million (€66 million), a prize that is simply too good to miss out on. You can pick your numbers online from the comfort of your own home or play via any authorised retailer in participating countries. Best of luck!
