EuroMillions Jackpot Won For Third Straight Draw

The EuroMillions jackpot was won for a third consecutive draw on Friday night as one lucky ticket holder from Spain matched all seven numbers to keep the feelgood factor going and bank €17 million (£14.9 million).

What Were The Winning EuroMillions Numbers?

The numbers drawn on Friday 8th June were 8, 19, 32, 43 and 46, with Lucky Stars 2 and 8. Over 1.7 million players picked up prizes, with big winners from all over Europe in addition to the participant who hit the jackpot. Take a look at the EuroMillions Results to see a full breakdown, including details of the winning UK Millionaire Maker codes.

Where Was The Jackpot-Winning Ticket Sold?

The winning ticket was sold at Portmetxeta, 7B, in Barakaldo in the province of Biscay. It is the 87th time the jackpot has been given away in Spain since EuroMillions started, and the third time this year.

Spain is now level with France as the most successful EuroMillions nation. The UK remains in third place with 72 jackpots, ahead of Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg. Is It Unusual For The Jackpot To Be Won So Often?

Friday’s result followed on from an Irish syndicate winning €17 million in the draw on Tuesday 5th June. Winners from Spain and Portugal had previously split a jackpot of €74.2 million (£69.9 million) on Friday 1st June.

Although EuroMillions regularly gives away huge jackpots, it is unusual for the top prize to be won three times in a row. The last time it happened was almost three years ago, from 25th September to 2nd October 2015.

There is now a chance that June 2018 could set a new record for the most number of jackpot winners in a single month. There have previously been four months - most recently September 2016 - when seven players have landed the top prize. There have already been four winners in three draws this June, so the tally just needs to be doubled in the remaining six draws of the month.

Can You Make It Four in a Row?

The jackpot has not been won four times in succession since a Tuesday draw was introduced in May 2011. It most recently happened in the draws from Friday 17th December 2010 to Friday 7th January 2011.

If you would like to try and bag the next EuroMillions jackpot on Tuesday night, you can visit any authorised retailer or join an online syndicate. Playing in a group boosts your chances of winning as you can more easily own a share of multiple entries, and it could just be that you keep the run of success going.
