EuroMillions Rolls a Sixth Time
22nd August 2011 10:34 AM
The EuroMillions lottery jackpot rolled over for the sixth time in a row last Friday 19 August after no player anywhere matched all seven numbers required to claim it. The EuroMillions results which once again proved to be so tricky for jackpot-hunters were 06, 14, 16, 28 and 31, with 02 and 11 drawn as the Lucky Stars. Now that the jackpot has rolled for a sixth time its value for the next draw this Tuesday 23 August will be around €74 million, which is around £64 million for players in the UK.
As always, one UK player won a prize of £1 million last Friday in the associated Millionaire Raffle game – this time the winning number was MJR532763. In the main EuroMillions game, six players around the world matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €319,085 each (there is no GBP equivalent because no UK players won a prize on the second-tier).
As far as the more modest prizes were concerned, 17 players won €37,539 (around £24,628) each by matching five main numbers only, and 47 players matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars to win €6,789 (around £4,454) each. A total of more than 3.18 million prizes were won in the draw as a whole, so plenty of players emerged from the game last Friday with something to smile about.
Now players will be wondering if they will have something even bigger to smile about on Tuesday – maybe even a jackpot fortune worth €74 million! The most overdue main numbers at the time of writing are 43, 02, 09, 21 and 41, and the most overdue Lucky Star numbers are 09 and 06, so it will be interesting to see if any of those make an appearance.
