EuroMillions to Create 13 UK Millionaires on Friday 13th July

Friday 13th July is set to be a very lucky date for 13 EuroMillions players in the UK after it was announced that a special raffle will take place to create even more guaranteed millionaires than usual.

Two UK ticket holders win £1 million in every standard EuroMillions draw thanks to the Millionaire Maker, but from time to time there are even more prizes up for grabs. These can tie in with major events such as the Olympic Games or significant celebrations such as Christmas, and more recently the National Lottery has decided to also hold raffles when the calendar has come round to Friday 13th.

How Will the Raffle Work?

The EuroMillions draw on Friday 13th July will work just the same as any other. You will receive one randomly-generated Millionaire Maker code for each line of lottery numbers you select. This code consists of four letters and five numbers, and can be seen directly below your numbers on your EuroMillions ticket. The cost of entering Millionaire Maker is included in the cost of your ticket.

The only difference will be the number of winners. Instead of just two Millionaire Maker codes being drawn on the night, 13 codes will be selected at random. Only codes which have been generated for the draw will be entered into the raffle and each one is unique, so the prizes are guaranteed. You must match the code exactly to win the £1 million prize.

A Better Chance than Usual

The odds of winning a Millionaire Maker prize are entirely dependent on the number of entries that have been sold for the draw, but there will be a far better chance of becoming a millionaire in this special draw than in a regular game.

It is estimated that there are around 6 million UK entries when the EuroMillions jackpot is low. In a normal draw the odds of winning one of the two Millionaire Maker prizes are therefore around 1 in 3 million, but on Friday 13th the odds will be significantly improved at around 1 in 460,000.

How to Improve the Odds Even More

To boost your odds even further, you could decide to play in a syndicate. By teaming up with other players, you can easily enter multiple lines in a cost-effective way. A group of 15 nurses from Scotland won a £1 million prize in the Millionaire Maker on Friday 20th April, netting each member £66,666 and allowing them to start planning for holidays to Canada and Sri Lanka, cruises, new cars and motorbikes.

You can even join syndicates online to achieve the same effect. All the hard organisational work is done for you, so you just need to decide how many shares you would like to purchase and then wait to see if you are a winner.

Don’t Forget to Check

While you will be notified automatically if you win a prize online, you need to make sure you check the results if you play via a retailer. The Millionaire Maker code can be easy to overlook if you focus on the winning numbers from the main game first, but you can also use the EuroMillions Checker to see if you have won in the raffle.

You can scoop a Millionaire Maker prize without winning anything on EuroMillions, or vice versa, and there will be a big jackpot to play for on the main game on Friday 13th July. You don’t even have to wait until then to take part, as you can get involved in the next draw now for your chance to win.
