Since the first EuroMillions draw was held on Friday 13th February 2004, there have been 32 jackpot winners in May – 8.29% of the total jackpot winners in the lottery’s history. This is almost dead-on the average for lottery winners by month, with September leading the way on 40, followed by 39 in January, 36 in February, and October and November tied on 35 each.
May’s first EuroMillions jackpot winner came in just the month’s second draw. A ticket holder from France scooped £22.8 million on Friday 14th May 2004 after matching the numbers 1, 3, 21, 32 and 39, and two Lucky Stars 2 and 6. The most recent jackpot winner in May was on Tuesday 10th May 2016, when a Portuguese player celebrated a £57.5 million purse, becoming the country’s 59th jackpot winner at that time.

There were six EuroMillions jackpot winners in May 2008, May’s most popular year over the past 14 years. The first-ever Tuesday EuroMillions draw was also held in May, on 10th May 2011. This historic night offered a jackpot of €100 million, and a new prize tier for matching two main numbers was introduced alongside the number of Lucky Stars changing from nine to 11.
A special edition of Millionaire Raffle was held on Friday 31st May 2013, called ‘£1 Million Every Month for a Year’. The £12 million prize went on to be donated to the Good Causes Fund after no ticket holder came forward in the 180 days after the draw to claim their prize.

Although there have only been 74 EuroMillions jackpot winners on Tuesdays compared to the 312 Friday first prize ticket holders, Friday draws began in 2004, whereas Tuesday draws were only introduced in 2011. There are four Friday draws for EuroMillions players to look forward to in May 2018, as well as five Tuesday draws.
