PlayThe lucky playslip, which was purchased in the Buckinghamshire town ahead of the UK Millionaire Maker draw on Friday 12th August 2016, successfully matched the winning code GSZ 040219 to land the seven-figure sum, but National Lottery officials are still awaiting contact from the victor.
With the winner seemingly unaware of their win, Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s senior winners’ advisor, has been forced to issue a rallying cry to the people of Wycombe and the surrounding areas: "Time really is running out for the winner of this prize, but we are still hopeful that someone will come forward at the very last minute to claim the money.”
Carter, who has been described as the ‘Willy Wonka’ of the National Lottery, continued his plea with Buckinghamshire residents: "We're urging everyone to check their old tickets one final time or look anywhere a missing EuroMillions ticket could be hiding. This life-changing prize could really help to make dreams become a reality for someone out there."
Should the winner be unlucky enough to miss out on their prize, the £1 million, plus any interest generated, will be handed over to the Good Causes Fund where it will be used to support a wide range of projects in the UK. For more information, head to the Good Causes page.
