Two Share EuroMillions Jackpot

Two players shared the EuroMillions jackpot worth €58.8 million (around £50 million) on Friday 12 June, 2009. One of the winning tickets was purchased in Great Britain and the other was purchased in Ireland, and each of the winners will collect a very nice prize of €29,430,608 (around £24,951,269) each.

The British winner has been named as 73 year old Brian Caswell from Bolton, Greater Manchester. The winner in Ireland has yet to come forward.

Regular readers of this news column might be interested to note that three of the seven ‘overdue numbers’ we identified last week happened to come up, including both Lucky Star numbers. This means that anyone who entered those overdue numbers will have won €9.20 (around £7.80) just for reading our news item!

The EuroMillions Results in full for Friday 12 June were 6, 14, 16, 34, 50 and the Lucky Stars were 4 and 7. Ten players matched the five main numbers and one Lucky Star to win €370,043 (around £314,326) each. Another eight players matched the five main numbers but no Lucky Stars and still picked up €131,265 (Around £111,500) each.

Overall, there were a total of 2,208,797 EuroMillions prizes won by players, and many of those will be hoping that they can do even better this Friday. Although the jackpot has obviously been reset, there is still €15 million (£12 million) up for grabs, so play EuroMillions online and you could be in with a shot at becoming the next big winner!

Those of you who won €9.20 last Friday by using our seven identified overdue numbers might be wondering what the current set of overdue numbers looks like. Well, you can always visit our EuroMillions Statistics page at any time to find out the latest details in-between news posts, but right now we can tell you that the most overdue numbers are currently 27, 39, 1, 28 and 15, and that the two most overdue Lucky Stars are 7 and 8.

These numbers don’t have any more chance of winning than any others, but the overdue numbers performed well last Friday, so it’s perfectly possible that they could do so again this week.

Finally, congratulations to the two winners of the €58.8 million jackpot last week – it’s that kind of win that inspires EuroMillions lottery players everywhere!
