UK EuroMillions Player Wins £105 Million

Update 28/11/2019: The winners of the £105 million jackpot won on Tuesday 19th November have been revealed as Steve and Lenka Thomson of Selsey in West Sussex. They spoke about their win at a press conference organised by the National Lottery - read more about their incredible story.

The winning numbers from the draw on Tuesday were 8, 10, 15, 30, and 42, with Lucky Stars 4 and 6. Over 2.2 million ticket holders won a prize but only one of them managed to match all the numbers to win the jackpot.

There were over 600,000 winners in the UK on the night, who split £2.5 million between them in addition to the nine-figure jackpot. No one matched five numbers plus one Lucky Star, so the nearest anyone else came to winning the jackpot was by matching the five main numbers. Four players did just that to win £13,336 each. 2019 Is A Record Year for UK Jackpot Winners

This latest win is just one of several big jackpots that have gone to UK ticket holders in 2019, starting with the £114 million won by Patrick and Frances Connolly of Northern Ireland on the very first day of the year.

In fact, more money has been won by UK jackpot winners in 2019 than in any other year in EuroMillions history. So far this year, UK jackpot winners have won over £623 million. That has been split between just six ticket holders:

  • 1st January - Frances and Patrick Connolly - £114,969,775
  • 15th March - Ade Goodchild - £71,057,439
  • 23rd April - Anonymous ticket holder - £38,254,645
  • 11th June - Anonymous ticket holder - £123,457,008
  • 8th October - Anonymous ticket holder - £170,221,000
  • 19th November - Steve and Lenka Thomson - £105,100,701

Jackpot wins have been fewer in number in 2019 but they have also been much bigger than in previous years. You have to go back to 2012 to find a year in which the amount of money won by UK jackpot winners even approaches the 2019 total. That year Adrian and Gillian Bayford won a £148 million jackpot to take the annual total won in the UK to £442 million.

In 2015 there were nine jackpot winners, the most of any year, but the average jackpot was worth much less: £33 million compared to a £103 million average jackpot in 2019. Back in 2008 there wasn’t a single EuroMillions jackpot winner in the UK!

The UK National Lottery has positioned EuroMillions as the game to play if you’re looking for the big jackpots and these latest statistics demonstrate exactly that. The frequency of jackpot wins coupled with special draws such as Superdraws and Millionaire Maker raffles show that there has been no better time to play EuroMillions
