Of course, EuroMillions players didn’t completely miss out on the experience of winning. There were in fact 2,186,246 EuroMillions prizes won last Friday. Two players won €310,160 (£207,513) each by matching the five main numbers and one of the Lucky Star numbers. Another 12 players matched the five main numbers but no Lucky Stars to win €73,349 (£49,074) each. 163 Players who matched four main numbers and both Lucky Stars won €3,857 (£2,581) each.
Whilst it would have been nice for a player to have won a multi-million fortune on New Year’s Day, it’s also very nice to be able to have a shot at €41 million this Friday. If you were to get the EuroMillions results required to win that amount then you would still get to live almost all of 2010 as a very wealthy person, so waiting an extra week probably wouldn’t be something that you would worry about too much.
Since the New Year is traditionally a time to start thinking about developing new habits, you might want think about developing a few new EuroMillions habits. If you haven’t done so already, you could start your own lottery syndicate to help you increase your chances of winning without increasing the cost of playing – see How to Increase Your Chances for further details.
Or, if you have decided to quit smoking (or any other expensive habit), you might decide to use some of the extra cash you will save to buy yourself an additional ticket or two for each draw. Remember, every ticket you buy for a EuroMillions draw gives you more chance of becoming the next big winner, so quitting something bad for your health could be very good for your bank account!
We’ll leave you to think about what other New Year resolutions you might want to make for 2010, but before you do that, don’t forget to play EuroMillions online so that you have a chance to win €41 million this Friday!
