EuroMillions fans across the continent enjoyed great success on Tuesday 8th September as over 1.4 million prizes were won on the night. The jackpot stood at £22.4 million (€30.9 million) following a double rollover and one ticket holder from the UK managed to match all five main numbers plus both Lucky Stars to scoop the staggering reward, but it was also a special draw for many other participants.
The winning numbers on the evening were 14, 16, 39, 40 and 42 with Lucky Stars 1 and 4. As well as the jackpot winner, three players, one from the UK and two from Portugal, matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to each pocket £250,492 (€328,474), while another four participants matched five main numbers to net £62,623 (€82,118) each. The other prizes won ranged between £3.40 (€4.50) for matching two main numbers and £4,174 (€5,474) for matching four main numbers plus both Lucky Stars. Boosted by their jackpot winner, the UK came out emphatically in first place out of all the countries taking part as a prize pool of £24.9 million was shared between 358,273 players. Portugal came second in terms of the amount of money won as €2.2 million was split 206,834 ways. There were 284,301 winners in Spain, grabbing a combined €2.1 million
There will be a jackpot of £10 million (€15 million) up for grabs in the next draw on Friday night.
