The first 1,000 EuroMillions draws saw €34.68 billion distributed to 2.17 billion winning tickets, with France boasting the greatest success. More than 490.9 million prizes were won in the country over 13 years, nine million more than the UK in second place.

In a survey commissioned by to commemorate the occasion of the game’s 1,000th draw, 23 percent of players said they would quit work altogether after a large win. However, only 16.3 percent said they would stay in the same employment, with 11.5 percent dreaming of going part-time and 48.7 percent hoping to fund their own business venture. More than two-thirds of ticket holders would stay private if they won the EuroMillions jackpot and nearly a quarter would head off to the Caribbean immediately after the funds were placed into their bank account.
