It's been an impressive year for EuroMillions when it comes to big jackpots. This draw marks the third time in 2025 that the grand prize has hit the jackpot cap of €250 million, with prizes of this size being won previously in Austria and Ireland in March and June respectively.
Currency Conversions
It's being widely reported that, in pounds sterling, the €250 million jackpot is worth £210 million at the current exchange rates. £210 million was the figure reported by the UK's National Lottery in the run-up to it being won, but on the day of the draw, the conversion actually amounts to £216 million, which has been published in the National Lottery's results.
The National Lottery deliberately uses a lower estimate, since the jackpot can remain static at the €250 million cap for weeks, and in that time the exchange rate can change quite a bit. Recalculating the value in £££s on an ongoing basis is not a great solution, since this would be confusing for many punters - the jackpot is supposed to be at its limit, so why would it be changing up and down slightly?
