Winning Ticket Purchased in Seville
The jackpot-winning ticket matched 1, 4, 14, 21 and 49, plus Lucky Stars 2 and 12, to land the eight-figure windfall on 13th July. It has been revealed the winning line was bought in Seville, although it is not yet known who the ticket belongs to.
There have now been 89 jackpot winners from Spain since the country partook in the first ever EuroMillions draw in February 2004, the most of all nine participating countries. They are just one ahead of France, with the UK still the third most successful country with 73 jackpot winners.
There were over 2.2 million winners on the night, including two tickets in the second prize tier, both from the UK, who won more than £415,000 each after matching six of the seven numbers. They were just one Lucky Star shy from landing the jackpot themselves.
This is the second draw in a row that the EuroMillions jackpot has been won, with the Spanish success following on from the sensational £57.9 million sum won by a UK ticket holder on Tuesday 10th July. That jackpot rolled over for five consecutive draws before being claimed.
Elsewhere in Spain, the winning code in the supplementary El Millón draw was FKW87491, purchased in Castelldefels, Barcelona. It’s the second time in four El Millón draws that the winner has come from the region, following on from the winning code DWL19465 on 22nd June.
Thirteen Millionaires Created In The UK
Friday 13th may superstitiously be considered an unlucky day for some, but the EuroMillions draw also saw 13 UK millionaires crowned in the supplementary Millionaire Maker.
The additional game normally sees two UK ticket holders become overnight millionaires after every main draw, but this special raffle generated 13 winning codes at random on the night. All UK-based EuroMillions players have 180 days from the date of a draw to come forward and claim their prize, so the latest winners have plenty of time to consider their options before claiming their winnings.
The 13 winning UK Millionaire Maker codes can be found on our Results page, along with the winning numbers and prize breakdown from the main draw and supplementary games.
